Specification Comparison and Reviews

Fist it is fear to say that both products added huge amount of improvements and both products are backed up by big companies and there so much to expect in the future to support more commands and apps down the road.

Appearance

🏆 Winner: Google Home.

Home smart speakers look and appearance is very important, it could be the first thing your friend or neighbor will see when whey walk in to your living room, so it is important that it integrates as seamlessly as possible into your home more naturally.

Google home comes in many customization colors and finish that can fit your home style,  It comes from stock with a grey fabric base, but also available in other colors from google and other third parties, you can purchase Purple, Marine, or orange fabric bases as well as Carbon, Copper, or snow metal bases. each base will cost from $2 to $35 depends on quality and finish.

Amazon Echo in the other hand comes in six colors as sold from the manufacturer Charcoal Fabric, Heather Gray Fabric, Oak Finish, Sandstone Fabric, Silver Finish, and Walnut Finish. Although this may fit everybody taste and would fit to any living room style, it doesn’t offer customers options for their own customization.

Sync audio to multiple devices

🏆 Winner: Google Home.

Most of people use smart speaker to play your favorite music, we thought review the ability to sync music to multiple apps and devices is an important fact in comparing Amazon Echo and Google Home.

Both devices will satisfy your need when it comes to playing music in other apps and devices like Spotify, Pandora, Tune in. That being said Amazon echo doesn’t connect directly to YouTube and we know that most people play their favorite music from YouTube.

Price

🏆 Winner: Both Google home and Amazon Echo have comparable price.

As the technology still new basically we are at 2nd Generation of Amazon echo, it still not easy sometime to communicate with both smart speakers specially when you are playing your favorite music, i am sure this will be better in the future. but for now users still have to deal with dead ends like “Sorry i didn’t get that” or no response at all. With that said amazon Echo have better microphones and can hear you better from different angles as it is equipped with 7 microphones vs google home that have only 2 microphones .

Speakers

🏆 Winner: Google Home.

Amazon Echo

Google Home have slightly better sound quality than amazon Echo thanks to its 3 powerful speakers, the sound is filtered very well and make use of the “Boundary effect” when installed against the wall. Amazon Echo don’t have a full sounding bass but seem to do better than Google home when playing loud music.
